About Us

Scientific inquiry and invention have been my lifelong pursuits. I started my career as a cardiologist and was drawn to invention because the process of scientific learning and inventive discovery had similarities.  During my medical training, I was overwhelmed by the great amount of knowledge  I needed to absorb. This led me  to teach myself how to write software code and develop a system of menus that would facilitate access the  patient care guidelines. On learning about blindness and Braille,   I wondered how the sighted could also benefit by using the sense of touch to “see” the tactile properties of buttons without visually looking at them.  My latest focus is on developing novel software for quality assurance and medical education.

On a personal side, serendipity brought me from Montreal to Detroit. I moved upstream from an island in a river to the edge of the Great Lakes, from the Quebec Laurentian mountains to an engine of American know-how.  Many mentors guided me at McGill University, the Ottawa Heart Institute and the Cleveland Clinic.  I am honored  to be a teacher, doctor, scientist, and inventor.
